Versa 20/Shimadzu

Versatile Peltier-driven temperature control for Shimadzu UV-Vis-NIR Spectrophotometers
Product Overview

The Versa 20/Shimadzu is a versatile design, providing temperature control to a single cuvette in the forward sample beam of the spectrophotometer. The Versa 20/Shimadzu is ideal for work in the biological range of 0 °C to 110 °C, either to observe absorbance spectra at precisely maintained temperatures, or for temperature ramping, to observe how absorbance changes with temperature. To work at cold temperatures, purchase a windowed jacket, purge with dry gas and work down to -40 °C. For even more demanding work, purchase the extended temperature option and run the Versa 20/Shimadzu up to 150 °C or down to below -40 °C. The Versa 20/Shimadzu replaces the sample tray (base and front panel) of the spectrophotometer, with utilities brought conveniently to the front panel. Operate the TC 1/Single Temperature Controller using the menu button or through program T-App available from Quantum Northwest. When this unit is used in a Shimadzu UV-1800, a special version of T-App, called T-App(S) can be used to record absorbances from the spectrophotometer and plot them vs temperature.
