qpod 3/MPKIT

qpod 3 Multipurpose Kit: temperature-controlled sample compartment with internal temperature controller and lenses for absorbance, fluorescence and other spectroscopies
Product Overview

The new air-cooled qpod 3/MPKIT combines the qpod 3 sample compartment with a full set of lenses and spherical mirrors that may be configured in multiple ways to measure both absorbance and fluorescence. The optical package includes two collimating lenses, two imaging lenses and two spherical mirrors. In the center is a temperature-controlled cuvette tower with optical ports on each of four sides. Slit holders control optical access to the cuvette. Place your sample in a cuvette in the central tower. Each of the four sides of the qpod 3 has a mounting ring for optical components, thermally stable and precisely aligned with the tower. Place optics as needed. A collimating lens will create a collimated light beam of about 5 mm in diameter and pass it through the cuvette or will take a 5 mm collimated beam and focus it onto another fiber. An imaging lens will focus the end of a fiber into the middle of the cuvette or focus a section of the illuminated volume onto another fiber, using a magnification of about one. Spherical mirrors will focus any light emanating from the center of the cuvette back on itself, thus nearly doubling incident, or emitted light. Add light sources, lenses, filters, polarizers, mirrors, spectrographs, and detectors as needed for your experiment. Most applications of the qpod 3 take advantage of fiber optics for transmitting light, but lasers, focused light sources and probes of various kinds may be used. A dry gas purge of the compartment enables easy use at low temperatures down to below -30 °C. The standard qpod 3 readily achieves a high temperature of +110 °C. Operate the qpod 3 on a lab bench or build it into your own full spectroscopy system. For computer control, use program Q-Blue, provided at no charge, or write your own program utilizing simple text commands for control.
