qpod 3/ABSKIT
qpod 3 Absorbance Kit: temperature-controlled sample compartment with internal temperature controller and lenses for absorbanceThe new air-cooled qpod 3/ABSKIT combines a qpod 3 sample compartment with a pair of collimating lenses to form an optimal system for using fiber optics to measure absorbance. In the center is a temperature-controlled cuvette tower with optical ports on each of four sides. Slit holders control optical access to the cuvette. The outside of the qpod 3 structure holds mounting rings for optical components, thermally stable and precisely aligned with the tower. Attach fiber optic cables to the collimating lens systems and screw them in place on opposite sides of the qpod 3. Illuminate through one cable and a collimated beam about 5 mm in diameter will pass through the cuvette and focus onto the collection fiber. A dry gas purge of the compartment enables easy use at low temperatures down to -30 °C. The standard qpod 3 readily achieves a high temperature of +110 °C. Operate the qpod 3 on a lab bench or build it into your own full spectroscopy system. The qpod 3 is frequently used with fiber optic options available with commercial spectrophotometers. For computer control, use program Q-Blue, provided at no charge, or write your own program utilizing simple text commands for control.
