Product Overview

The Cyl 100/Shimadzu provides Peltier-based temperature control for a 100 mm pathlength cylindrical cuvette in any of the Shimadzu UV-VIS Spectrophotometers. Place the cuvette in a cradle and screw down a cover, thus surrounding the cuvette with temperature-controlled surfaces. Place a magnetic stir bar in the cuvette under each stopper. Recent studies verify that magnetic stirring helps maintain uniform temperature in the cell.

The Cyl 100/Shimadzu replaces the cuvette holder base and the front panel of the spectrophotometer, with utilities brought conveniently to the front panel. Operate the TC 1/Single Temperature Controller using the menu button or through program T-App available from Quantum Northwest. When this unit is used in a Shimadzu UV-1800 or the impressive new Shimadzu UV-1900, a special version of T-App, called T-App(S) can be used to record absorbances from the spectrophotometer and plot them vs temperature.
