Custom Instrumentation

Our design team has both the intellectual depth and the experience to design and build instruments customized for your needs. We research manufacturing methods and materials to develop one-of-a-kind prototypes with an emphasis on ease of manufacture.

We utilize the facilities of Quantum Development Group, Inc., a division of Quantum Northwest, Inc. for SolidWorks 2006 solid modeling design and prototype development. Please visit their site for information about their capabilities.

Our design team includes Ph.D.-level scientists with experience developing and using a wide variety of biophysical instrumentation. Our team has strong knowledge of optical phenomena, particularly involving polarization, fluorescence, photoacoustics and lasers. See personnel for more details.

Your costs are low because we have an experienced team already in place, and because we have pre-existing solutions to many optical, mechanical, and electrical problems. Please ask for an estimate. You will be pleasantly surprised with the affordability of our services.

Recently Completed Projects
:

Matrix 1000 – The Matrix is a time-resolved fluorometer with a temperature-controlled cuvette holder and a built-in Nd:YAG laser.
FLASC 1000 – The Fluorescence Lifetime Anisotropy Sample Chamber is a versatile time-resolved fluorometer capable of simultaneous measurements of V, H and magic angle fluorescence. Built for the eminent Scotsman, Professor J.B.A. Ross of the University of Montana, the optical compartment of the FLASC 1000 is provided with a built-in support holding a small flask of 12-year-old single-malt Scottish whiskey. The instrument manual enumerates the proper use of this medicinal agent.
PAS 1000 – The PAS is the new pulsed-laser photoacoustics instrument that provides everything needed for high quality kinetic measurements, except the laser and the computer.
Superlux 2000The Superlux 2000 is a microscope attachment for measuring time-resolved fluorescence from points on an image.
Custom Sample Holders – We continually design and build custom temperature-controlled sample holders for a wide variety of applications.
