Serial Control using SER 2.3

The Quantum Northwest temperature controllers may be controlled by an external computer via a USB connection. SER 2.3 includes a driver, a cable and a Windows program. From the main window of the program QNW Serial Control, you may set target temperatures, turn temperature control or magnetic stirring on or off, or collect time and temperature data in its central window for both the probe and sample holder temperatures.

A click on the Script button in the lower right corner of the main window brings up the Special Tools window. Use this window to load a script file, a series of text commands that perform complex temperature functions such as temperature ramping. Sample scripts are provided. Copy data from the main window onto the clipboard so that it may be used in other applications, or click on the plot button on the main window to bring up a plot of the time and temperature data. When using a TC 125 or TC 425, you may plot either or both the temperature of the cuvette holder and the temperature of an external temperature probe. With the TC 225 controller, you may plot the temperatures of both the sample and reference cuvette holders and the temperature of the probe.
