| • Rapid, precise Peltier control over a wide range of temperatures • Magnetic stirring in all six positions • Powerful stepping motor for position control • Dry gas purge • Remote computer control • TC 425 temperature-controller included Description The LC 600 holds up to six cuvettes in a row. The cuvettes are evenly spaced in a temperature-controlled metal core and surrounded by a plastic cover that provides thermal insulation. Light may pass through each cuvette through optical ports that are 10 mm square. Optical slits may be placed in front of each cuvette to mask the incoming light when using cuvettes of reduced size. The temperature of the metal core of the LC 600 is controlled by a thermoelectric cooler (TEC), a device using the Peltier principle. The TEC pumps heat into or out of the tower. For heat removal, a small flow of water passes through a heat exchanger under the TEC. A rotating magnet is placed under each cuvette and the six magnets turned by three synchronized, precision, Swiss motors. If needed, a flow of dry gas may be passed through the base of the LC 600 for partial temperature equilibration and then directed into the optical ports next to each of the exposed cuvette surfaces, thus minimizing condensation. The LC 600 includes a matched and calibrated TLC 125 Temperature Controller, and sample changing requires software control. Cuvette Size and Types The LC 600 holds standard 10 x 10 mm path length square cuvettes. To maximize thermal contact, each cuvette is held into one corner of one of the cuvette positions by a metal spring clip. The LC 600 is designed for a “z-height” of 8.5. Thus, the optical center line, or middle of the optical port, is 8.5 mm above the bottom surface of the cuvette. This is a convenient dimension because it minimizes the sample size in most cuvettes. It is also a standard height for microcuvettes and flow cells. Special Options
Mounting Requirements The LC 600 is currently supplied for use in the Olis RSM 1000, although it can be readily configured for other spectrophotometers. Please contact us if you would like to use an LC 600 in a different instrument. Availability If you would like to purchase an LC 600 for use with an Olis instrument, please contact Olis. If you would like to use the LC 600 in a different instrument, please contact us. We will be happy to provide a quotation. |
